The work of the judiciary is done primarily
in Dzongkha. The registers kept by the judiciary are exclusively
in Dzongkha, the vast majority of judgments (over 90 per
cent) are in Dzongkha, and Dzongkha is the language used
in the courtroom. This complicates the application of
IT in the judiciary, because there is no standardized
Dzongkha font for IT applications. However, the Dzongkha
Development Commission has set up integrated Dzongkha
into Microsoft Windows. The Dzongkha Windows system is
based on the international standard computer charactering
code called "Unicode". Certain Court documents will be
made available when it operates. Until then, we regret
for any inconvenience.
