A two year administrative assistants course for bench
clerks of the judiciary system was declared open by
the Chief Justice, Dasho Sonam Tobgye, at the Royal
Institute of Management in Semtokha, on March 11.
“There is an urgent need for the judiciary to be equipped
with well trained professionals at all levels of its
operation,” said the Chief Justice. “I am confident
RIM will do justice to this course, bringing out a cadre
of officials well trained in multi-functional skills.”
Dasho Sonam Tobgye urged the trainees to make the best
use of the opportunity.
The course Director, Kunzang Thinlay, pointed out that
a separate judiciary cadre was created and the National
Legal Course introduced in 1995. The administrative
assistants course to train bench clerks was another
such measure.
12 trainees are taking part in the course.
