On his appointment as Judge in the High Court, Thimphu,
Maj. Sangay Dorji of the Royal Bhutan Army was awarded
red scarf by His Majesty the King on October 14, 1980.
After receiving his early education from late Dochoten
Lopen Karma Tshering in Paro, Dasho Sangay Dorji joined
the Royal Bhutan Army as a solider in 1951. Within
29 years of service in the Royal Bhutan Army, he became
Lingpon (Major). He proved himself to be an able and
active leader among his colleagues and served the
Government with full heart and soul. Before he took
over the charge of his new assignment, he was a "Thrimpon"
of RBA and was also the representative of Royal Bhutan
Army in the National Assembly for 11 years.
