Officers given Red Scarves
Mr. Pasang Tobgay (28), Development Officer, Chirang and Mr. Karma Dorji Sherpa (29), Under Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been promoted and made Red Scarf Officers.

His Majesty the King gave them red scarves at a ceremony in the Royal Cottage on June 30. Dasho Pasang Tobgay has been appointed Thrimpon of Samdrup Jongkhar and Dasho Karma Dorji Sherpa has been appointed Thrimpon of Chirang.

Dasho Tobgay comes from Shaney village in Tashigang and is an arts graduate from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling. He completed the Indian Administrative Service Course from Lal Bahadur Shastra National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, India, and has also attended a workshop on evaluation of planning programme and budgeting in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dasho Karma hails from Beteni block in Chirang and has been working in the Ministry of Foreign affairs since 1971. He has also attended a course in local Government Administration in Japan.
