Judiciary meet clarifies legal points
The 10th Annual Judiciary Conference, which concluded yesterday, clarified and modified about 55 points relating to the kingdom’s laws, said a spokesman for the High Court in Thimphu.

Among others, the six day conference discussed matters relating to His Majesty the King's commands regarding the legal system, and Acts on land, marriage, inheritance and motor vehicle. A series of decisions were taken by the conference.

According to High Court Judge, Dasho Sangay Dorji, these decisions will be submitted to the royal government for final approval before they are implemented.

Dasho Sangay Dorji explained that one of the advantages of the annual conference is that it helps clarify all misunderstandings and ensures uniformity in the legal procedures and decisions in different districts.

It also discusses and decides on the modifications and additions called for by the changing situation in the country.
