The 5th all Bhutan Judicial Annual Conference

The 5th All Bhutan Judicial Annual Conference of Thrimpons began on October 20, 1980 in the High Court Conference Hall, Thimphu. The conference lasted for six days. The first conference was held in 1976.

Welcoming the Chief Guest, Honourable Home Minister Lyonpo T. Jagar and other guests and participants, Dasho Penjo J. Dorji, the Chief Justice of Bhutan meet annually to discuss the various problems that they faced in their respective districts and try to find solutions to these problems. Stressing on the main objectives of the conference he said “We also discuss changes that we may bring about or dispensation of justice in the land.” Lastly he requested the Honourable Judges to keep in mind His Majesty the King and the country while discussing the items on the agenda.

The conference was attended by all the Thrimpons from different districts of the country, Judges and senior Ramjams of the High Court, Thimphu. Besides them, Directors of Forests, Motor Vehicles, Trade and Industry, Animal Husbandry and Joint Director of Excise Department also attended the conference. The departmental heads are expected to discuss various problems relating to their departments.
